The best 10%-20% of the papers will be published in Volume 4 of JSCI Journal (http://www.iiisci.org/Journal/SCI/Home.asp). 12 issues of the volumes 1 and 2 of the Journal have been sent to about 200 university and research libraries, and 6 issues of Volume 3 (2005) will be sent to a larger number of library. Promotional, free subscriptions, for 2 years, are being considered for the organizations of the Journal’s authors. We are emphasizing the area of Information Systems, mainly Multimedia Systems, Technologies & Applications which, we think, are related to your specific area. Also, we would like to invite you to organize an invited session related to a topic of your research interest. If you are interested in organizing an invited session, please, fill the respective form provided in the conference web page, and we will send you a password, so you can include and modify papers in your invited session. Organizers of the invited sessions with the best performance will be co-editors of the proceeding volume where their sessions’ papers were included and of the CD electronic proceedings. They will also be candidate for invited editors, or co-editors of a possible JSCI Journal issue related to their invited session papers. Best regards, Professor Nagib Callaos WMSCI 2006 General Chair If you wish to be removed from this mailing list, please send an email to wmsci.remove(a)iiis-sci.org with REMOVE MLWMSCI in the subject line. – いつものようにCallForPapersとして自分のWikiにまとめようとした。あて先に自分の名前が載っていることを除けば、普通のちょっとしつこめのCFPと何ら変わらなかったし、HPも見てみたがプログラム委員会が聞いたことない先生方が多いことを除いて特に気になることはなかった。まあそもそも「Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics」なんていうジャンルで実名で お呼びがかかるとはちょっと意外な気もしたが。 会議の時期もSIGGRAPH直前のフロリダだし、参加するのも可能といえば可能だし。 しかしなんというか、野生の勘が働いたので調べてみた。 …よりによってスラッシュドットのアーティクルにひっかっかってしまった。 (とりあえずざっくり読まれたし) http://slashdot.jp/articles/05/04/19/0941201.shtml?topic=27 この学会が電波かどうか、金取り学会かどうかは今私はここで断言できないと思う。参加したことないし。それに400-450USDというのは国際会議ではめちゃくちゃ高いほうではない、むしろ安いほうに入るだろう。 むしろ、これを金取り学会に認定すると、私はもっと「不快な価格設定をした金取り学会」を列挙しなければならなくなる。 おそらく問題は、このMITのサイトにある、”SCIgen - An Automatic CS Paper Generator”が原因なのだと思う。 http://pdos.csail.mit.edu/scigen/ 簡単にいえば、自動でコンピュータサイエンスのそれらしい図入りの論文が生成できてしまうWebサイト。まんまだけど。 このWMSCIという会議は過去に、この論文ジェネレータが書いた論文を受け入れてしまったらしい。 結果、詐欺国際会議でも金取り国際会議でもないのに、アカデミックSPAMぎりぎりのメールを送信してまで、集客しなければならなくなった。はぁ。 ちなみに暇がある人はスラッシュドットを細部まで読んでもらうといいのだが、こういう事件は初めてではないようだ。まあ機械が書いた論文を受け入れるなんて寄稿…じゃなかった奇行はそうめったに起こるわけじゃないんだけど。 せっかく7月のフロリダにいけるかと思ったんだが、いきなり萎えたなあ…。 こういうちょっとした会議も複数つながるか、欧州内で開催してくれれば参加も検討できるんだが…金ないな。
